Entertaining Yourself When Travelling Long-Distance by Bus or Train

If you enjoy travelling, then you’re probably no stranger to a long train or bus journey. Travelling by road or rail is often an easy and cheap option for getting to your next destination, and the best part is that you also get the option to see more of the scenery along the way. Whether you’re planning a day-long journey to your next destination or one that’s going to last at least a couple of hours, here are some great ideas for passing the time that you might want to consider.

Watch Your Favourite Sport

If you are lucky enough to be travelling on a coach or train that offers Wi-Fi for passengers, then why not pass the time watching your favourite sports games? You can find recordings of games that you might have missed over the past few days or weeks or tune in to Unibet TV on your smartphone or tablet to watch live action games that are happening right now. Take some headphones along with you so that you can comfortably watch without disturbing any of the other passengers.

Listen to a Podcast

Podcasts are a fun and easy way to pass the time when on a long journey, and there’s no shortage of options to choose from when it comes to what you’d like to listen to or learn about. You can find podcasts that are designed to help you get better at your job or your relationship or listen to podcasts about travelling if you want to get the latest tips and advice for your trip. You can find interesting podcasts about conspiracy theories, unsolved crimes, mysteries, and more on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Watch a Movie

Thanks to the Netflix app that can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet, you can easily download your favourite movies to watch on your trip even if you’re not going to have internet connection along the way. Before your trip starts when you have Wi-Fi access, go to the Netflix app on your smartphone or tablet and download some movies or shows to watch offline so that you’ll be able to watch them hassle-free even if your signal drops out half-way through your journey.

Read an eBook

eBooks are a great way to pass the time while travelling and the best part is that you can download several of them to your device and will not need an internet connection to read them, making them ideal for flying too. If you often feel like you don’t have enough time to read all the books that you’d like to, a long journey is the perfect time to catch up. If you don’t have an e-reader, you can easily get the Kindle app on your smartphone or tablet so that you can download eBooks directly from Amazon to your device.

If you’ve got a long coach or train journey coming up soon, these are just some of the best ways to consider passing the time. What do you like to do to stay occupied when travelling long-distance between destinations?
